By: admin | Date posted: 11.23.2007 (2:24 pm)

MCZ – Mad Catz Interactive (American Stock Exchange) – (Closing Price – 1.08)

Mad Catz Interactive reported moderate results for their fiscal 2008 second quarter and they announced the acquisition of Saitek, a PC games peripheral provider.

In the second quarter Mad Catz Interactive posted earnings of 0.02 per diluted share on revenues of 16.9 million. Revenues were down 35% from the second quarter of last year due to the “culling process to reduce low-margin product placement, the continuing impact of the console transition and strong software sales in the year-ago quarter attributable to Real World Golf 2”. Net income of 0.9 million and earnings per share of 0.02 were “both record levels for Mad Catz’ fiscal second quarter.” (more…)

By: admin | Date posted: 11.21.2007 (3:42 pm)

CAAS – China Automotive Systmes (Nasdaq) – (Closing Price – $6.40)

China Automotive Systems has posted a couple of strong quarters since my initial buy recommendation but the stock price has been inconsistent.

In Q2 of 2007 China Automotive Systems reported revenue of 36.31 million and earnings per diluted share of 0.10. CAAS’s revenue and earnings in Q2 were considerable improvements both sequentially and year over year.

In Q3 of 2007 China Automotive Systems reported revenue of 31.20 million and earnings per diluted share of 0.11. Revenues were up year over year but down sequentially due to seasonality of the Chinese passenger vehicle market. Earnings per share however improved both sequentially and year over year. (more…)

HSOA – Sell Recommendation

By: admin | Date posted: 08.15.2007 (12:00 am)

HSOA – Home Solutions of America (Nasdaq) (Closing Price – $4.70)

Home Solutions of America released their second quarter results last week and posted moderate results. However, HSOA’s management did not provide additional details about their disputed New York and Florida contracts. They also did not provide guidance and they said they were going to delay providing a balance sheet until they talked to their lenders about the resolution of a note related to the acquisition of Fireline Restoration. In light of the many issues surrounding Home Solutions and the lack of information given by the company I am going to recommend to sell HSOA. (more…)

NGA – Initiation of Buy Recommendation

NGA – North American Galvanizing & Coatings (American Stock Exchange) (Closing Price – $8.36)

North American Galvanizing & Coatings (NGA) is a company with solid fundamentals and increasing earnings. However, the share price has had quite a run in the last few months and share price can be volatile so NGA is a speculative stock pick.

North American Galvanizing provides hot dip galvanizing for corrosion protection of fabricated steel products in the United States. The company has benefited from strong demand for hot dip galvanizing and increases in zinc prices the last few years. (more…)

STRM – Q1 2007 Earnings

By: admin | Date posted: 07.01.2007 (12:00 am)

STRM – Streamline Health Solutions (Nasdaq) (Closing Price on Friday 6/29/07 – $4.19)

Streamline Health released first quarter earnings on May 21 and once again they reported disappointing results.

Streamline Health reported revenue of 3.78 million and a loss of 0.05 per diluted share. They blamed the disappointing results on “protracted negotiations on two large system sales.” However, they said they were confident the sales “will successfully conclude in our second quarter, allowing the company to meet its first half expectations.” (more…)

HSOA – Update (Stock Lemon)

HSOA – Home Solutions of America (Nasdaq) (Closing Price – $6.00)

The stock price of Home Solutions of America has taken quite a hit in the last week so I will provide an update of what caused this and where I think the share price is headed from here.

The initial cause of the selloff was an article written by stocklemon.com which calls itself “Cintron Research”. Before I go into the details of the article they wrote let me give you some more information on stocklemon.

The people behind stocklemon establish short positions in stocks, usually companies that trade on the pink sheets, and then they write negative articles about the companies to drive the stock price down. They basically try to scare people into selling shares of the companies they write about so they can make money. The articles they write have to be taken with a grain of salt, or just disregarded, considering the obvious bias they have. (more…)
