[...] LinkedIn (LNKD) is very close to going public having even set the price of its soon to be public shares between $32-$35. The latest rumors are that LNKD will start trading this Thursday!! That should be great news by all accounts right? LinkedIn was one of the companies that we were anticipating to trade and while it’s not Facebook, it remains one of the more interesting business models and becomes the best way to invest in the new “social web”. I remain very bullish about the company but I thought it would be interesting to examine the pros and cons of buying LNKD, one of the companies that I follow that has not turned public yet.
Good post. Hopefully, for LinkedIn to be beneficial to all its users, it is essential that Human Ressources staff does not use aggressive advertising or cheap and aggressive recruiting (that can ruin the image of this platform).

LinkedIn has lot of potential!! As an user of LinkedIn, I think it's a great platform to increase visibility in a professional way and get references from past colleagues. You may also ask for advices from experienced professionals. It's really well done.

Like you said the "average member" represents only a portion of the overall population (young and middle age, professionals, connected). I do know if the # of users will grow significantly.
